2022 SEBA Atlanta Shootout (Top Performers - Part 2)

The 2022 SEBA Atlanta All-Star Shootout was held September 17 on the campus of Pope High School. This 19th Anniversary Fall event featured 150 prospects from throughout all of Georgia, as well as from the states of Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina. The players were provided the opportunity to demonstrate their talent to the many College Coaches in attendance, as well as some of the top media and scouting outlets in the South.

Here is Part 2 in a series of reports profiling the Top Performers. These players were selected to
the All-Shootout "2nd Team".

Second Team

Kameron McCall (6' 1, PG; Hillgrove; 2023)
It is always exciting to see a player make a significant jump in his development as a player over the course of the off-season. Going into his Senior year, Kam has done exactly that and Colleges are starting to take notice. After strong showings in June with his Hillgrove High team and an excellent July during the travel ball live period in July, He has continued to carry that momentum into the Fall. On Saturday, he played with a noticeable confidence, scoring the ball at a high rate and in an efficient manner. He shot the three ball at a high percentage both off the catch and off the dribble. His quickness and increased strength from time in the weight room was on display, as he continuously was able to drive into the paint and finish at the rim, or create for open teammates. Defensively, he puts good pressure on the ball and has good awareness. A high character and hard working prospect with a 3.9 GPA in classroom. Look for him to be one of Georgia's biggest "breakout" players in the '23 class this coming season.

Jeremiah Taylor (6' 2, Guard; South Paulding; 2023)
Strong Athletic Guard who is really good at attacking the basket and scoring at the rim. Whether in the halfcourt set or in transition, Jeremiah's quickness was a handful for opposing defenders to deal with. He displayed a good float game and mid-range pull-up. While very aggressive as a scorer, he plays at a good pace and doesn't force the action. Sees the floor well and delivered several nice assists to cutting teammates. Defensively, he is a true asset, as both a team defender and disrupting opposing ball handlers with his physical prowess. Leader and go-to guy for a talented South Paulding squad that should make noise this year. All-State candidate in Georgia's Class AAAAAA.

KeAndre Harris (6' 3, Guard; St. Anne - Pacelli; 2023)
Good looking prospect out of Columbus area who scored the ball at a high rate throughout the day. Among the camp's top scorers, he is a long and wiry 6' 3 guard who creates his shot really well. In 5 on 5 play, KeAndre came out the gate on fire; knocking down a variety of contested pull-up jumpers and deep treys. With the defense eventually focused on taking away his outside shot, he did equal damage putting the ball on the floor and scoring in the paint on both sides of the rim. Looked good pushing the ball in transition. Look for him to have a huge Senior season for St. Anne Pacelli. He is prospect College Coaches do not want to sleep on.

Harrison Morris (6' 8, Wing/Forward; Walton; 2023)
High ceiling and high academic prospect with really nice upside that caught the attention of numerous College coaches and scouts in attendance. Showed a good versatility to his game, with a combination of inside scoring on the block, outside shooting, and all-around basketball IQ. He moves well without the ball and works well within the flow of the offense, which is no surprise coming out of a very well coached Walton program. Equally impressive was his versatility on defense. At 6' 8, He showed the ability to guard wings on the perimeter, but a willingness to bang down low as a post. He blocked several shots and altered several others as a rim protector. With a 4.3 and 1390 SAT; he is prospect that Academic Elite programs should definitely take a strong look at.

Alex Cannon (6' 8, Forward; Walnut Grove; 2023)
Emerging prospect standing a legit 6' 8 with a sturdy frame; Alex had an impressive showing throughout the camp. He shined on the defensive end, where he was a continuous presence as a shot blocker. He swatted away numerous attempts in the paint. He is a physical and aggressive rebounder and did a great job snatching boards and quickly initiating the break with outlet pass. Offensively, he played to his strengths and was assertive in wanting the ball on the lower block, where he showed solid footwork and hands. He didn't shy away from contact, which is always nice to see in a young big man. He had several powerful dunks in traffic. While he is still obviously developing; Alex has some serious upside and the potential to be a high impact player at the College level. We expect him to become a priority target for numerous College programs in the coming weeks and into the winter season for an always talented Walnut Grove.

First Team

PG - AJ Patterson

Justin McCarter (6' 5, Guard/Wing; Osborne; 2023)
Blossoming high ceiling prospect whose stock continues to rise. McCarter had an excellent showing during the July Live Periods and his game continues to climb this Fall. The combination of length, athleticism, and versatility brought strong reviews from many of the College Coaches in attendance on Saturday. He presents a very tough matchup for opposing defenses. He is a constant threat to score with his slashing ability, but is also a knock-down shooter from three-point range, especially off the dribble. He runs the floor extremely well in transition and finishes above the rim. His playmaking skills were on display Saturday, where he drew double teams and did a good job setting up teammates with his passing ability. Defensively, he is adept at guarding multiple positions and rebounds well for a guard. Carries a 4.0 GPA in classroom. Certainly won't be a surprise to see D1 programs get involved with Justin in the coming months; but regardless of where he lands, He is a player with great upside and a very bright future.

AJ Patterson (6' 4, PG; Mount Vernon School; 2023)
Floor general with good size and frame who impressed with his ability to smoothly run the show from the point guard position. Sees the floor well and makes good decision with the ball. Sets up teammates, puts them in good scoring position, and delivers with well timed passes. Several coaches commented positively on his communication skills. Physical and aggressive defender who rebounds the ball really well from the guard spot. Showed ability to finish at the rim on drives and has a capable outside jumper. Will be a major piece for a talented State title contending Mt. Vernon squad. AJ recently picked up offer from Georgia College in Peach Belt Conference. Expect his recruitment to continue to pick up heat in the weeks to come.

Damjan Simun (6' 4, Guard, The King's Academy - Tennessee; 2023)
Breakout player from Tennessee who had an excellent showing throughout the day. The native of Montenegro is a big guard with strong 6' 4 college ready frame. Exhibited a very well rounded game and inside-out scoring prowess. Repeatedly got in the paint on drives and has the strength to power thru contact and score. Showed off his bounce with a couple of impressive dunks off drives. Has good accuracy on his three point shot and showed good court vision with several nice assists. Good defensive instincts, reading passing lanes on multiple occasions which led to easy buckets on other end. What might have been most impressive was Damjan's high basketball IQ. Plays with aggression but understands the game, is controlled and doesn't force the issue. Carries a 4.0 GPA in classroom. College Coaches will be well served to do their due diligence on this young man. He is a ball player.

Kham Little (6' 4, Wing, Mary Persons; 2023)
Another talented prospect whose recruiting stock is rising rapidly this Fall. The super bouncy 6' 4 Wing Guard from Middle Georgia plays well above the rim and is a highlight reel waiting to happen. Kham thrives in transition and finished multiple tough finishes in traffic. He made a strong impact on the defensive end and created turnovers with his quickness and anticipation. His strong showings on the camp circuit this past month has resulted in four scholarship offers. We would expect that interest to certainly grow after his impressive performance on Saturday.

Darius Reynolds Jr. (6' 5, Forward; Cedar Grove; 2023)
Strong forward who simply dominated the paint on both ends of the floor. The physically imposing product out of Dekalb County might have been the most productive player in camp. On the offensive end, he exhibited a deadly combination of force and agility to rack up points in the paint. Showed a solid mid-range shot when opponent gave ground. He was an absolute beast on the offensive boards, creating second chance opportunities for his team on numerous occasions. Defensively, he plays bigger than 6' 5 and protected the rim with authority, blocking 4 shots in the course of six minutes. Plays with energy and presence. Had multiple College Coaches highlighting his name. Junior College Coaches will surely want to take a close look.

The players were provided the opportunity to demonstrate their talent to the more than forty (40) plus College Coaches in the building, as well as some of the top media and scouting outlets in the South.

'22 Yannis Woods (Jonesboro HS)

Additional Camp Standouts (Wings & Forwards):

The camp roster had numerous high quality Wing and Forward prospects who are future College players. In addition to the standouts mentioned earlier in this series, here are some additional Wings and Bigs who impressed. Yannis Woods (6’ 7, Forward, Jonesboro; 2022) is a long and athletic forward with great upside. He had Coaches and scouts highlighting his name as he was dominant defensive force in his opening game, blocking 7 shots and absolutely controlling the defensive boards. His activity on the defensive end was contagious as his camp team ran away with the win. Offensively, he was a handful on the offensive glass, converting several put backs while also finishing several nice post moves in the paint. He gets up and down the floor really well for his size in transition and has the rise to finish well above the rim. He has a tremendous amount of natural tools and talent to work with and our evaluation staff unanimously feels that, with continued progression and development, he has a chance to be a really good player at the College level. Quinton Partee (6’ 3, Wing/Forward, Roswell; 2022) doesn’t have the classic size of typical post; however, if you value production, you are going to be a fan of his game. The strongly built forward plays with maximum effort, is a monster on the boards, and a physical scorer in the paint. He doesn’t back down from taller opponents but goes right at them. As effective as his inside play is, he also showed a consistent outside shot which stretches out to the three-point line. All in all, he has the makeup of a physical hybrid type 3/4 at the small college level who will bring winning intangibles to the table. Rett VanDeMark (6’ 8, Forward, HALO Wolfpack; 2022) is an under the radar home schooled prospect who plays in the small school GAPPS Association. While he didn’t come into camp with the name recognition as some of the other prospects in attendance, he made a good impression with his play and caught the eye of several schools. He was one of the better rebounders in camp and covered a lot of ground on the defensive end of the floor. He did a good job as a rim protector, and multiple evaluators commented on his willingness to battle in the paint. He is a capable scorer on the block and has solid touch on his mid range jumper. Zion Powers (6’ 4, Wing, Woodville Tompkins; 2022) made the most of his trip up to ATL from Savannah, as he put his scoring abilities and defensive versatility on display. At 6’4, he has a nice inside-out feel to his game and was effective slashing to the rim and knocking down the outside shot. He is above average rebounder from the wing position, can guard multiple positions and showed good on-court leadership. An All-Region performer as a Junior, we are expecting a big Senior season for him at Woodville-Tompkins. Inigo Ibanez (6' 7, Forward, Furtah Prep; 2022) is an active and lengthy forward who was a shot eraser throughout the day. Inigo was easily one of the top shot blockers in attendance. Offensively, he has very agile feet for his size and solid moves on the block. Isn't afraid of contact of goes strong to the basket. Multiple coaches commented on his work ethic and attention to detail in the morning skill stations. Will be a major piece for Furtah Prep program that is always in the hunt for State Title in GISA.

Cameron Bleshoy (6' 4, Wing, Pope, 2022) was playing on his home court during the camp and exhibited many of the same winning traits that have been a major part of Pope High's success the past two seasons. The two sport star (also starting WR/DB on football team) is a good athlete who averaged 12 ppg and 8 rpg last season in a Region loaded with high level talent. He is a constant presence on the boards, finishes well at the rim, and is a versatile defender capable of matching up with quick guards and larger posts. Physical player who is always around the ball. Does alot of the little things that aren't glamorous, but are key ingredients for winning programs. Ben Hodges (6’ 3, Wing, Alcovy; 2023) is a player who received very positive reviews from multiple evaluators. The athletic wing plays with a big-time motor and was making plays all over the floor. He did a really nice slashing to the rim and is a strong finisher at the rim. He runs the floor hard on the break and is an excellent rebounder from the wing position. Definite player to watch in Georgia’s Class of 2023. Ryan Bellomy (6’ 8, Forward, Harrison; 2023) is an emerging Class of 2023 big man out of Cobb County. Has a long wingspan and sturdy frame that will continue to fill out. Solid footwork and was effective scorer when asserting himself on the low block. Provided good rim protection with his length. Has the ability step out beyond the arc and consistently knock down the three-ball. While he is far from a finished project, he has some really nice potential. His best basketball is ahead of him. Lamar Haynes (6’ 3, Wing, Clarke Central; 2022) would be named a starter on our “All-Energy” team. The inside-out threat from Athens really got after it on defense and proved to be a versatile scoring threat from all three levels. He plays bigger than his size and was a force on the boards. Expect him to fill the stat sheet across the board for Clarke Central this season. Luke Rogers (6’ 7, Forward, Pickens; 2022) received some well-deserved attention from several Colleges in attendance and it is easy to see why. He is a prospect who does a great job playing to his strengths. He was an active defensive presence in the paint, blocking/contesting shots, and boxing out for rebounds. He plays with good hustle and encouraging to teammates. He had several nice finishes around the rim where he powered thru heavy contact to score. The All-Region player is primed for a big Senior season, look for his recruitment to continue to trend upward. Justin McCarter (6' 4, Wing, Osborne; 2023) is a sleeper talent with excellent upside. Long wingspan and solid athlete, he excelled at attacking the rim for buckets and setting up teammates with several nice assists off penetration. He brings great versatility as a defender and is an active presence on the ball and in the passing lanes. Part of a loaded and talent rich Osborne squad that is expected to have a big season, expect to hear alot more about Justin in the coming year.

'22 Shawn Walker (Walnut Grove)

Shawn Walker (6' 5, Wing, Walnut Grove; 2022) is an intriguing prospect whose recruitment we expect to take off sooner rather than later. Has good size at the wing spot and solid perimeter skill set. Is at his best when attacking the rim, where he did a great job using his length and athleticism to finish. Dangerous in transition. Versatile defender who can guard multiple positions. Will team up with fellow standout DeMyron Williams as a tough 1-2 punch for Walnut Grove this year. Christian Torres (6’ 5, Forward, East Hall; 2022) is an athletic forward who made a strong impact for his team. What first jumps out at you is how hard he plays on both ends of the floor; he has a good knack for the ball and is a relentless presence on the boards. Was a problem for opponents on the offensive glass. He did a great job scoring the ball inside the paint and has good scoring touch around the rim. Runs the floor hard in transition. Look for him to be a nightly double-double machine for East Hall this coming season. Ethan McIntyre (6' 5, Forward; 2022) is a workhorse player who is effective on the interior. He demonstrated good physicality and aggressiveness in the paint and works hard to stake out position for scoring opportunities. Has some solid bounce and is capable of throwing down dunks in traffic. High academic prospect with 96 GPA. Look for him to take on a featured role for Cass squad that graduated a big chunk of talent. Jha'Quez Wright (6' 4, Wing, Wilson Academy) is a small school product, but he more than held his own against some of the state's top regarded players. He is an active and athletic wing with solid frame. He is a good slasher, knows how to finish, and defends at a high level. Player worthy of next level evaluation. Ryon Reed (6' 4, Wing, Southeast Bulloch; 2023) is a talented up-and-coming 2023 prospect from Southeast Georgia. He can handle the ball and does a good job creating his shot, getting to the rim with ease. He has a nice mid-range jumper and finished in traffic. On defense, he put good pressure on ball handlers and moves his feet well. Carries a 3.7 GPA in classroom. Look for a breakout season for this young man.

College Coaches evaluating talent at the 2021 SEBA All-Star Shootout.

Additional Camp Standouts (Guards):

The camp roster had a plethora of guards who will go on to play College Basketball in the near future. In addition to the standouts mentioned earlier in this series, here are some additional Guard prospects who impressed. North Georgia standout Dane Fisher (6' 0, CG, Model; 2022) came into the event known as one of the State's top outside marksman and he certainly backed up that reputation. He was on fire in his team's first game, knocking down six treys (including two from deep range) while also keeping the defense off balance with several nice finishes in the paint. The high academic prospect (3.9 GPA) plays with a good court savvy and IQ and is a player that needs to be on the radars of schools in need of a knock down shooter. David Witcher (6' 3, SG, Franklin County; 2022) is a highly athletic prospect with some really nice upside. He has some big-time bounce and is a highlight reel waiting to happen when running the break in transition, where he can finish with explosive dunks. Showed an accurate outside shot which compliments his athleticism quite well. He played within himself and was a good teammate. Has the potential to be a terrific defensive player at the next level. Look for him to be one of Northeast Georgia's top talents this year for Franklin County. Marietta High School had two different guards catch attention with their production at camp. Jaden Mann (6' 4, CG, Marietta; 2024) is a talented young player with a bright future. Has good size, can handle the rock, and is comfortable facilitating from the point guard position while also exhibiting a smooth and accurate three point stroke. Look for him to really take a big step forward this coming season. Charles Gauthier (6' 0, PG, 2022) is athletic lead guard one of the more underrated 2022 prospects in the Metro Atlanta area. We liked his dual ability to create for teammates while also showing he could score the ball when needed. Did a good job of attacking paint and making good things happen. Knocked down several deep treys and was good with ball in transition. 4.2 GPA proves he is also a standout in the classroom.

2022 Jahmeir Chapman (Osborne HS)

If an All-Defensive Team was awarded from the event, Jahmeir Chapman (6' 0, PG, Osborne; 2022) would have been an easy selection. He is an elite on-ball defender and plays with great energy. He has great anticipation off the ball, picking off passes creating turnovers at a high rate. Offensively, he is lightning quick and does an excellent job creating for teammates. Diamond in the Rough player out of Cobb County that is poised to have a big Senior year for a loaded Osborne team. Demyron Williams (6' 1, PG, Walnut Grove; 2022) is an intriguing prospect with good upside. He has significant length and creates well off the dribble, making good things happen when the ball was in his hands. Was able to consistently get into the paint for scoring opportunities. Should have a breakout Senior season for a tough Walnut Grove squad this season. Kyle Keener (6' 1, PG, Sequoyah; 2022) is impressive player who combines a high level perimeter skill set with advanced understanding of the game. He sees the floor really well and made things easy for teammates, dishing out assists in stride for easy scores. Good on-court leadership. A more than capable scorer, he is a knockdown shooter and uses change of pace moves really well to create off the dribble throughout the day. Several coaches commented on his hustle and willingness to do the little things. A standout in classroom with 3.8 GPA; Academic Selective Schools would be wise to take a close look at this young man.

2023 Elijah Fisher (Paulding County HS)

Elijah Fisher (5' 10, PG, Paulding County; 2023) is a physically gifted guard with really nice upside potential. He has great speed and is a blur with the ball in transition. He has some nice bounce and a strong frame which allows him to power thru contact at the rim. Does a really good job of attacking gaps and drawing defense. Defensively, he is a active presence that disrupts with his quickness. As he grows in his court awareness and role as a facilitator, he has all the tools to be a sought after recruit in the 2023 class. Emmanuel Vasquez (5' 10, PG, Dacula; 2022) was a player who did a very solid job leading his team as a playmaker. Plays with good energy and court presence. He has a nice handle and got all of his teammates involved and helped deliver the ball in position for high percentage shots. Also hit some tough pull up contested jumpers and floaters of his own, while really getting after it on the defensive end of floor. Sleeper prospect for always tough Dacula program. Nick Chambless (6' 3, SG, Terrell Academy; 2022) is a South Georgia prospect who had a good showing. The fundamentally sound guard shot the ball with precision and has the ability to create his own shot. Was among the better three point marksman in attendance. He exhibited a good court IQ and strong effort on defense with a competitive mindset. Carries a 4.0 GPA in classroom. Hampton Goff (6' 1, SG, Greenbrier) is a nice player who knows how to thrive within the flow of the offense. He shoots the three ball at a high accuracy, gets good separation on his pull-up mid-range, and is good at finding the seams in the defense for scoring opportunities. Makes sound decisions with the ball in his hand; very effective in half court pick and roll sets.

2023 Theo Antinori (Rabun Gap)

Theo Antinori (6' 1, CG, Rabun Gap; 2023) was yet another Rabun Gap player who made a good impression with his strong performance. The high academic prospect with a 4.0 GPA can put points on the board in bunches. He shot the ball really well from three point range as both a spot up shooter and while creating off the dribble. Has cat like quickness and a crafty handle; gets to the rim and he knows how to finish over bigger players. Was active on defense and has quick hands. Sees floor really well. Ryan Williams (5'8, PG, North Paulding) was one of the youngest players in attendance; however that didn't stop him from making a very solid impression with his playmaking skills. Did a great job of controlling the momentum and serving as a quarterback on the floor for his team. He has the ball on a string and a deceptively quick first step; broke down defense with his penetration. Good court vision. Excited to watch his development over the next few years. Jackson Kemp (6' 3, SG, Roswell; 2022) is a player who caught the attention of several programs in attendance. He is a well rounded perimeter threat who can shoot the three ball at a high percentage. He has good size and frame and showed ability to finish in traffic at the cup, while also dishing out several nice assists to teammates. Uses screens well and knows how to move without the ball in his hands. A good student with a 3.7 GPA and strong test scores, look for his recruiting stock to continue to rise over the coming months.

2022 Vladimir Ivan (Furtah Prep)

Vladimir Ivan (6' 3, SG, Furtah Prep; 2022) is a strong physical guard with a College ready frame. He did a great job facilitating offense for his team as both a passer and scorer. He one was one the better shooters in the event and had several strong finishes in traffic at the rim. Good rebounded for his position. Showed a really good all-around feel for the game. Nice prospect. Chandler Jackson (5' 7, PG, Northwest Whitfield; 2022) is a spark plug lead guard who generates offense with both his scoring and passing abilities. An All-State selection who averaged 18 ppg as a Junior, he is extremely quick with the ball in his hands. He is fearless when attacking the rim. Can finish among the trees in the paint, converting several tough layups over opposing big men. Sees the floor well and did a good job drawing defense and kicking out to open shooters. Christian Kenerly (6' 3, SG, Redan; 2022) is a tough matchup for opposing defenses. He has good size at 6'3, a quick first step, and nice versatility to his game. He is a threat to score off the bounce and keeps you honest with a solid outside shot. His court vision and passing ability drew positive feedback from coaches and was an active defender. Look for the two time All-Region selection to be one of Dekalb County's top players this coming season and an All-State candidate in Georgia's Class AAA. Justin Zimmerman (6' 2, CG, Banneker; 2022) plays with a big motor and has a nice versatility to his game. Slashing to the rim for buckets, creating turnovers on defense, and finishing in transition, he was all over the floor. Potential breakout player on Atlanta's Southside this coming season.
