    2019 SEBA College Showcase Top Performers (Recap - Part 3)

    The 2019 Southeast Basketball Academy (SEBA) Atlanta College Showcase took place on March 23 on the campus of Oglethorpe University. For the past fourteen, this event has successfully brought together available prospects from throughout the South and provided them with an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities to College Coaches. The event has served as bridge between players and coaches and has resulted in scholarships and playing opportunities for hundreds of players since its inception.  
     
    This year’s edition of the SEBA College Showcase carried on that tradition, as 200 prospects representing all parts of Georgia as well as seven other states were eager to compete and display their talent to the large collection of college coaches in attendance.

    6' 3 Guard Josiah Stewart is an impressive all-around guard prospect

    2019 Guards
    ​
    The Camp roster boosted a good group of talented 2019 perimeter players who will play at the College  level. In addition to the players already listed, here are some others who also made their mark. Josiah Stewart (6' 3, SG, Lamar County) is a 1st Team All-Region guard with size who impressed with his all-around guard play. He created very well off the dribble and his mid range pull up was automatic throughout the day. He rebounds well, pushed the pace while leading the break and had some nice athletic finishes above the rim. Titus Hunter (5' 10, CG, Tri-Cities) is a spark plug guard who makes everyone around him better. After having a magical season in which he was named Region "Player of Year" and a major piece of Tri-Cities' run to the Class AAAAAA State Title, Titus played at camp with great intensity and focus. He attacked the rim for buckets and handled the ball really well. He showed good athleticism on the defensive end of floor and rebounds very well for a guard. Harleon Reed (5' 9, PG, Spoto, FL) is a speedy lead guard who impressed with his passing and scoring abilities. He showed dual ability to create for himself and distribute for scoring opportunities. Averaged 19 PPG this year and was one of the top Senior guards in the Tampa Bay area.  Jalyn Hickman (6' 0, PG, Duluth) is a lead guard who is wired to score. He has a nice pull game and uses nice series of ball handling moves to attack the paint and breakdown the defense. Sees the floor well and had several nice assists for easy buckets. A good student with a 25 ACT, he is a hard worker on and off the court. Nathan Pickett (6' 0, PG, The Skill Factory; 2019) is another prospect from TSF Prep who had a good showing at camp. He has a quick first step and did an excellent job of penetrating the paint and breaking down opposing defenses. He is a strong finisher around the basket and showed a capable three point shot. Coaches liked his energy,  vocal leadership, an dhigh court IQ. His academic resume of a 4.0 GPA and 26 ACT makes him a great target for academically for academically selective schools looking to sign a point guard.

    2019 John Allen showed tremendous defensive play
    John Allen (5' 7, PG, Marietta) is a super quick and explosive lead guard who makes a major impact on both ends of the floor. Defensively, his aggression forced alot of turnovers and resulted in buckets on the other end for his team. Had four steals over course of several minutes in one camp game. He gets in the lane with ease and dishes for clean assists to teammates. He is great in transition with the ball. All-Region performer in a tough League; he will be a very nice pickup for a program. Jakobe West (6' 1, SG, Mt. Zion) is a nice player with a smooth outside stroke. He knocked down an array of jumpers on the day and is able to keep defense off balance with penetration. One of the top Senior guards on the Southside of Metro Atlanta, he averaged 16 ppg this past season. Ronny Walker (6' 2, SG, Laney; Post Grad) is an athletic guard with good bounce. He attacks gaps in the defense quickly and had a couple of highlight reel dunks in the 3-on-3 station.  He pressures the ball well on defense and crashes boards hard. Zachary Sinclair (5' 10, CG, Arnold, FL) is a lights out shooter and was one of the top marksmen in the camp. He has a quick release on his shot, deep range, and was dangerous spotting up and off the dribble. A 1000+ point career scorer at Arnold, he also holds a 30 ACT which makes him an intriguing prospect for upper tier academic programs.

    2019 PG Trillis Brown had a good showing at camp
    Trillis Brown (5' 11, PG, Stockbridge; 2019) is heady Point guard with good speed; he combined a nice mix of scoring punch, defense, and ability to run the offense for his team. He did a nice job of penetrating, drawing the defense, and kicking out to open shooters. He shot the ball well from the outside and made good decisions in transition. A 1st Team All-Region player this year, he also provided aggressive on ball defense. Malique Combs (6' 1, PG, Franklin County) is versatile point guard with good size; capable scorer from the outside and off the drive. Plays with good poise and comfortable leading the offense. Rebounds well from the perimeter and is solid defender. Played key role for Franklin County squad that advanced to Elite 8 this past season. Braden Martin (5' 10, PG, West Hall) was a pleasant surprise who really seized the camp stage to demonstrate his talents. He played really well in his first 5-on-5 game, where he was all over the floor making plays. He knocked down several long three pointers, penetrated off the dribble for scores at the rim, and dished out several nice assists when defense collapsed. Sleeper prospect out of West Hall County worthy of looks. Jalen Milner (6' 1, SG, Georgia Military College Prep) is a good looking guard who is a threat to score in bunches. Knock down shooter on the spot and off the dribble. Sees the floor well and makes good decisions with the ball. Ronald Lee (6' 3, SG, Shaw) is an lengthy and athletic guard out of Columbus area. He was at his best when slashing to the rim and knows how to finish. Is good in the open court and runs the floor hard. Demonstrated good versatility as a defender and has good upside potential.  Fernando Caballero (6' 1, PG, Colegio San Jose, Puerto Rico) made the most of his trip to Atlanta from Puerto Rico and had a good showing. A fundamentally sound guard with strong College ready frame, he has solid perimeter skill set and court awareness. He showed very good passing ability and understanding of passing angles. Has deceptive leaping ability and showed the ability to finish above the rim. Carries a 4.0 GPA and scored 1200 on SAT. Armani Bolston (6' 0, CG, Langston Hughes) impressed with his ability to do many things well. He shot the ball at a high percentage, distributed, has good court vision, and got his team involved. Active defender and showed good leadership skills. Jamiel Wright (5' 10, PG, Parkview) is a dynamic playmaker who plays with a great motor. He is really good at turning corner off of ball screens and finishes really well in the paint. He has a nice pull-up jumper and is all over the floor on defense picking up steals, loose balls, and playing aggressively on the ball. Was a 1st team All-Region selection in one of Georgia's toughest AAAAAAA Leagues this past season.

    2019 Guard Cameron Cherry has a deadly outside stroke
    Cameron Cherry (6' 2, SG, North Paulding) is a tough and skilled player who shoots the ball really well but has enough quickness to make the defense respect his drive. He is a crafty scorer in the paint who uses changes of pace well and has good range on his three point shot. Averaged 15 ppg and was All-Region performer in a tough Georgia Class 7A league this past year. Justice Hayes (6' 3, SG, Cass) has good size and strength and played with great intensity. He shot the ball well from beyond and was one of the top rebounding guards in camp. Most impressive was the hustle he played with and a willingness dive on the floor, take charges, and set screens for teammates. Has great intangibles. Ennis Woolfolk (5' 11, CG, Social Circle) is a high energy scoring guard with good quickness. Handles the ball well, gets in the paint with ease, and finishes really well around the rim. Was named 1st Team Region this past season. Carlos Dixon (6' 0, CG, Manchester) is a scoring threat who puts up points in bunches. The "Region Player of Year" shot the three ball well and was aggressive to the rim, where he has good body control to finish drives. The 2nd team All-State selection averaged an impressive 21 ppg this past season.

    The underclassman also had an impressive group of standout perimeter players. Micah Roebuck (6' 1, PG, Franklin County; 2020) is an explosive and physical combo guard who shined on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he was very good off the dribble where he aggressively attacked the rim and finished consistently in traffic. He gets good elevation on his outside jumper and knocked down numerous three point shots. Good in transition and strong on ball defender. Two-time All-Region selection was catalyst for Franklin County team that advanced to Elite 8 this year. Prospect to watch in Georgia"s Class of 2020. Franklin Bailey (6' 1, SG. Chattahoochee; 2020) is a talented shooter with the ability to really light up the scoreboard from beyond the arc. He plays with great confidence and isn't afraid to step up and take big shots for his team. He defends the perimeter well and communicates vocally with teammates. Was an All-Region performer for Chattahoochee team that was one of the top squads in Class AAAAAA this year. Keon Sedgwick (6' 1, CG, Paulding County) is a fun player to watch. He is very fast with the ball and can be electrifying in the open court. Sees the floor really well and dished out several highlight reel assist. He finishes really well on drives to the rim, has a solid midrange pull-up, and is very active defender in passing lanes. Dawson Wilkins (6' 1, PG, Woodland; 2020) is a strong bodied guard who made his living aggressively driving the paint. He did a good job of scoring himself and creating shot opportunities for his team. Player to watch from Bartow County. Jaylen Stewart (6' 1, CG, Northview; 2020) is a blossoming player who makes his presence known as both a scorer and a defensive stopper. He exhibited a nice mid-range game scoring game with ability to also take it strong to the hoop. He guards the ball well and crashes the boards hard on both ends. Was named All-Region as a Junior this past season.  Shamon Zanders (6' 0, PG, Dooly County; 2020) is a talented 2020 All-Region guard who showed good court leadership and playmaking ability. He knocked down the outside jumper, finished at the rim, and got the ball to shooters at the right time.
