Here is Part 5 in a series of reports profiling standout performers from the event. This article will focus on Wings and Forwards.
The camp roster had numerous high quality Wing and Forward prospects who are future College players. In addition to the standouts mentioned earlier in this series, here are some additional Wings and Bigs who impressed. Chaz Ramsey (6' 7, Forward; Dalton; 2023) is a talented stretch four who shot the three ball really well and extended the defense. He knocked down three-treys over the span of a several minutes in one of his 5 vs 5 games, while also exhibiting solid scoring touch in the paint. Defensively he was very active on the interior, blocking several shots as a rim protector while also cleaning the boards as a rebounder. His length, versatility, and shooting touch is worth a trip north to Dalton for College Coaches this winter. Leo Etah (6' 4, Wing; Walton; 2024) is intriguing prospect who caught the eye of our staff and several College programs. He is a solid athlete and plays with a big motor. He was all over the floor defensively and snatching rebounds. Offensively, he showed a nice versatility as both a three-point shooter and a slasher from the wing. His on court talents combined with his 4.0 GPA should make him an attractive target for some high academic programs over the course of the next two years. Calen Wiggins (6' 5, Wing/Forward; Ridgeview, FL; 2024) drove six hours from Florida to Atlanta to attend camp and certainly made a good impression with his play. The long forward showed a nice variety to his game, knocking down long jumpers, scoring with a soft touch in the paint, and attacking the rim off the dribble for several nice drives. Aggressive on the offensive boards. Prospect to keep tabs on in Sunshine State's 2024 class. George Shumpert III (6' 5, Wing/Forward; Paulding County; 2025) is a talented young prospect that caught the eye of our staff and several media evaluators. While still a bit raw at times; His upside is very evident. At 6'5 and a solid frame, he has a nice inside-out feel to his game. He can handle the ball in transition, showed a nice touch on his jumper, and was an active presence as a defensive player. The potential is there for him to be a really nice player and prospect for Paulding County over the next three years.
