2022 SEBA Atlanta Shootout (Top Performers - Part 3)

    9/22/2022

The 2022 SEBA Atlanta All-Star Shootout was held September 17 on the campus of Pope High School. This 19th Anniversary Fall event featured 150 prospects from throughout all of Georgia, as well as from the states of Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina. The players were provided the opportunity to demonstrate their talent to the many College Coaches in attendance, as well as some of the top media and scouting outlets in the South.

Here is Part 3 in a series of reports profiling the Top Performers. These players were selected to
    the All-Shootout "3rd Team".

Additional evaluations will be posted in the coming days.

    Third Team

    PG - Ryan Williams
    PG - Javonne Williams
    WG - Braedon Ofosu-Kwarteng
    Forward - Ethan Sams
    Forward - Jason Johnson
    Picture
Javonne Williams (6' 0, PG, Paulding County; 2023)
Cat quick lead guard who gets into the paint with ease and makes good things happen with the ball in his hands. Creates really well off the dribble and finishes consistency around the basket. His ability to breakdown the defense, paired with his court vision, creates many high percentage shots for teammates. Defensively, Javonne  is also a standout. One evaluator identified Javonne as the top on ball defender in camp. He uses his speed and quickness to harass opposing ball handlers, and picks up quite a few steals in passing lanes. Look for Javonne to stuff the stat sheet for Paulding County this coming season, and distinguish himself as one of top Point Guards in Georgia's Class AAAAAA in the process.
    Picture
Ryan Williams (5' 10, PG, North Paulding; 2024)
Highly skilled and heady Point Guard who has a great feel for the game. While not one of the most physically imposing players in the gym, it would be a major mistake to underestimate Ryan. Once the ball is tipped and he starts playing, it is very apparent he has some serious game. He has good quickness, has the ball on a string, and uses change of pace moves extremely well. He was equally dangerous attacking the rim or splashing jumpers from the outside. He knocked down an array of mid-range pull-ups, floaters, and deep three-pointers. Can put up points in bunches. Finishes well at the basket among bigger players. Did an equally impressive job creating for others and has good passing skills. Looks very comfortable leading his team and running the show. College Coaches should get familiar with him now, as we think he will establish himself as one of the better lead guards in Georgia's Class of 2024.
    Picture
    Braedon Ofosu-Kwarteng (6' 2, G; Whitewater; 2023)
Camps like the SEBA Shootout provide a great platform to unveil recruiting gems, who for one reason or another, might not have the name recognition their game deserves. Braedon is one of the players who took advantage of the stage to demonstrate his high talent level. He received positive reviews from both College Coaches and scouts in the building. A long and athletic 6' 2 guard who impressed in a variety of ways. Did a great job using his quickness to get to the rim and once there, he knows how to finish. In one stretch, he had a high flying dunk and then followed that up with consecutive step back three-pointers. He has a smooth release and range on his shot. Equally impressive was his ability to guard the basketball on the defensive end, where he wrecked havoc with his quickness and length. All in all, Braedon is a player primed for a big-time breakout season down in Fayette County and we look forward to seeing where that leads.
    Picture
    Ethan Sams (6' 5, Wing/Forward; Lakeside; 2023)
Long and wiry prospect that is very bouncy; plays well above the rim and is a constant threat to posterize an unsuspecting opponent. Did a great job slashing to the basket from the wing and finishing thru traffic. Runs the lane really well on the fast break. Defensively, he brings good versatility and and an ability to guard multiple positions. Plays with a good motor and whether it was hustle plays or second and third chance opportunities on the offensive glass, he was making plays to help his team win. Will form a formidable trio at Lakeside this season along with with fellow Seniors Sebastian Reed and Andre Wheeler, who also had nice showings at camp.
    Picture
    Jason Johnson (6' 7, Forward; Brookwood; 2023)
Athletic big who had several highlight reel dunks that created buzz throughout the building. He was a strong interior presence throughout the day, whether scoring in the paint, crashing the boards, grabbing offensive putbacks, or blocking shots on the defensive end. While his size, bounce, and interior play is certainly his bread and butter, Jason also exhibited a very solid shooting stroke from the mid-range and knocked down the only three pointer we saw him shoot. Has earned multiple College offers already, and we would expect that list to grow in the near future. Underrated prospect in Class of 2023 with excellent potential for next level.
Additonal evaluations will be posted in the coming days
