The players were provided the opportunity to demonstrate their talent to the many College Coaches in attendance, as well as some of the top media and scouting outlets in the South.

    Picture
6' 7" Chaz Ramsey (2023; Dalton High School)
Additional Camp Standouts (Wings & Forwards):

The camp roster had numerous high quality Wing and Forward prospects who are future College players. In addition to the standouts mentioned earlier in this series, here are some additional Wings and Bigs who impressed. Chaz Ramsey (6' 7, Forward; Dalton; 2023) is a talented stretch four who shot the three ball really well and extended the defense. He knocked down three-treys over the span of a several minutes in one of his 5 vs 5 games, while also exhibiting solid scoring touch in the paint. Defensively he was very active on the interior, blocking several shots as a rim protector while also cleaning the boards as a rebounder. His length, versatility, and shooting touch is worth a trip north to Dalton for College Coaches this winter. Leo Etah (6' 4, Wing; Walton; 2024) is intriguing prospect who caught the eye of our staff and several College programs. He is a solid athlete and plays with a big motor. He was all over the floor defensively and snatching rebounds. Offensively, he showed a nice versatility as both a three-point shooter and a slasher from the wing. His on court talents combined with his 4.0 GPA should make him an attractive target for some high academic programs over the course of the next two years. Calen Wiggins (6' 5, Wing/Forward; Ridgeview, FL; 2024) drove six hours from Florida to Atlanta to attend camp and certainly made a good impression with his play. The long forward showed a nice variety to his game, knocking down long jumpers, scoring with a soft touch in the paint, and attacking the rim off the dribble for several nice drives. Aggressive on the offensive boards. Prospect to keep tabs on in Sunshine State's 2024 class. George Shumpert III (6' 5, Wing/Forward; Paulding County; 2025) is a talented young prospect that caught the eye of our staff and several media evaluators. While still a bit raw at times; His upside is very evident. At 6'5 and a solid frame, he has a nice inside-out feel to his game. He can handle the ball in transition, showed a nice touch on his jumper, and was an active presence as a defensive player. The potential is there for him to be a really nice player and prospect for Paulding County over the next three years.
    Picture
    Adarius Armstrong (T.L. Hanna; SC)
Adarius Armstrong (6' 4, Wing; T.L. Hanna; SC; 2023) is an athletic wing who made an impact across the board for his camp team. The South Carolina prospect is a versatile defender and plays the passing lanes well. He ran the floor hard for multiple buckets in transition and can finish above the rim. In the half court set, he is a solid three point shooter and can put the ball on the floor to create from the wing. Cole Buker (6' 6, Forward; Mt. Bethel Christian; 2024) is an impressive forward prospect who had a very nice showing at the camp. He has a nice combination of length, skill, and plays the game the right way. Has a good post up game, with solid footwork and several go-to post moves on the block, including an excellent "up and under" move. Showed consistent mid-range shot from elbow. His play away from the ball also stood out, as he boxed out, provided good help side defense, and cleaned the glass as a rebounder. Pau Verges (6' 6, Forward; Furtah Prep; 2024) injured his hand halfway thru camp; however he made enough of a positive impression while on the floor to be selected as to All-Star game. He is a long forward who finished really well around the rim; converting several tough athletic takes in traffic. He is active off the ball and set strong screens to get teammates open shots. Defensively, he dd a good job as a rim protector and interior defender.
    Picture
2023 Giovanni Harris (North Cobb) with the reverse dunk.
North Cobb High School talent was representing all over the gym. In addition to the previously mentioned Warrior perimeter players, Forwards Giovanni Harris (6' 5, Forward; North Cobb; 2023) and Terrell Reeves (6' 7, Forward; North Cobb: 2023) also shined with their play.  Harris was a strong presence on both ends of the floor. Runs the floor really well in transition and finished above the rim with several rim rocking dunks. He was a workhorse on the offensive boards, and just made good things happen with his big motor. Reeves is a very long 6' 7 who controlled the paint throughout the day with energetic play. He was consistently deterring opponents from entering the lane with his shot blocking prowess. Offensively, he did a good job catching passes from teammates and finishing at the rim. Was a challenge to keep him off the offensive glass. Both Harris and Reeves are double-double threats on any given night.
    Picture
    2023 Cole Smith (Allatoona)
Cole Smith (6' 3, Wing; Allatoona; 2023) is a good sized wing guard with solid frame. While best known as an outside shooter who can light it up from three point land, Cole has a nice versatility to his game. He has the first step to put the ball on the floor and score off penetration while also exhibiting good court vision and passing skills. Rebounds well from the wing and is a physical defender. Candidate to be one of biggest breakout players in talented Cobb County this coming season. Kenny Southhall (6' 4, Wing Guard; Mt. Vernon; 2023) is a good looking wing guard with a strong build and well rounded perimeter skill-set. Solid athlete; Can score the ball at all three levels. Does a great job using his quickness to get into the paint, and finishes strongly off two feet thru contact. Versatile defender who can match up with small quick guards or bigger interior players. Look for him to play a valuable role for a talented Mt. Vernon squad that should be among the top teams in Georgia this season. Preston Tuggle (6' 7, Forward; Trinity Prep; 2025) is a young prospect with a bright future. A long and athletic forward who was a standout on the defensive end of the floor. He did an excellent job as a rim protector;  swatting and altering shots left and right. He rebounded the ball well on both ends; did a good job keeping the ball high and strongly retaining possession in traffic. Runs the floor well for his size and good finisher on the break.
    Picture
    2023 Ryan Luttrell (Pope)
Ryan Luttrell (6' 4, Wing Guard; Pope, 2023) was playing on his home court and had a good showing; He is a high academic prospect (4.0 GPA) who brings multiple tools to the table; has good size for a Wing-Guard, above average athleticism, and can score the basketball in a variety of ways. Has knocked down plenty of jumpers and has good range on three point shot. Crashes boards hard and is a good rebounder from wing. Showed off some bounce with a near poster dunk on an unsuspecting defender. Ethan Weems (6' 6, Forward, North Springs; 2023) is a workhorse forward with a sturdy frame; he spent the day going to battle in the paint. Fights hard for position and was a good interior scoring presence for his team. Utilized physicality, footwork, and a variety of different post moves to his advantage. Has solid face-up jumper and passes well out of double teams. Isaiah West (6' 4, Wing, Central; 2024) is a strong wing guard who really competes. He creates well off the dribble and has good court vision; hitting off teammates with several nice assists for easy buckets. While his playmaking skills were on full display, he also showed the ability to score the basketball, getting to the rim for layups and knocking down multiple jump shots. Good looking prospect primed to be a standout in the West Georgia Area over the next two years.

2022 SEBA Atlanta Shootout (Standouts - Part 4)

    9/24/2022

The 2022 SEBA Atlanta All-Star Shootout was held September 17 on the campus of Pope High School. This 19th Anniversary Fall event featured 150 prospects from throughout all of Georgia, as well as from the states of Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina. The players were provided the opportunity to demonstrate their talent to the many College Coaches in attendance, as well as some of the top media and scouting outlets in the South.

Here is Part 4 in a series of reports profiling standout performers from the event. This article will focus on Point Guards and Shooting guards.
    Picture
Additional Camp Standouts (Point Guards & Shooting Guards):

The camp roster had a plethora of guards who will go on to play College Basketball in the near future. In addition to the standouts mentioned earlier in this series, here are some additional Guard prospects who impressed. Keishawn Hampton (6' 1, PG, Collins Hill; 2023) is was one of the top available PG prospects in Georgia. He is a scoring point guard who can shoot the three ball really well, but can also rip apart a defense off the dribble with his quickness and ability to attack the rim. Has a good head for the game, distribution skills, is strong on-ball defender, and competes. Already has several offers and we expect him to add to that with a big Senior season at Collins Hill. Drake Kucharik (6' 2, SG, Loganville Christian; 2023) is a highly skilled and fundamentally sound perimeter player with deceptively quick first step. He gets to the rim well and finishes strong thru contact, converting several tough buckets in traffic. Shoots the three ball coming off screens and moves well without the ball. He is an academic standout with a 4.0 GPA. Harrison Armour (5' 11, PG, King's Academy; 2023) was one of the event's biggest surprise players. He is a skilled and tough lead guard who shoots the three ball well and had several really nice finishes among the trees in the paint. Scrappy defender and willingness to get on the floor. High academic player with 3.9 GPA; he is worthy of next level looks. CJ Wallace (5' 11, CG, North Cobb Christian; 2023) was one of the event's top three point shooters. Has the ability to get really hot from beyond the arc, as evidenced with his shooting display in two of his team's games. Knocked down multiple treys spotting up and off a nice step-back move. Peaked the interest of a couple College programs with his play. Defensively puts good pressure on opposing ball handlers. Oray Towns III (6' 0, PG, Chapel Hill; 2023) is a really nice player who has the dual ability to score and create for others. He had stretches where he took over game with his hot shooting ability from the outside, but was equally impressive  with the way he ran his camp team as a floor general. He plays with good poise and overall court presence. College Coaches seeking a floor leader will want to take a close look here.
    Picture
    Cori Mincey (Vidalia High)
One of the top Breakout players in the camp was Cori Mincey (6' 2, SG, Vidalia; 2024). The uber-athletic guard electrified the gym with numerous high flying dunks. He was excellent in transition and a standout on the defensive end, pressuring passing lanes and making winning plays with his high energy. Bright future; we look forward to following his development for an always strong and well coached Vidalia Indian program. Lakeside High School represented really well on the day. In addition to 6' 5 athlete  Ethan Sams mentioned earlier, they had two guards who also made their mark. Sebastian Reed (6' 2, PG, Lakeside; 2023) is a good ball handler and creates well off the dribble. He was able to use his quickness to get in the paint for mid-range pull-ups and did a good job finding open teammates with well timed  kick out assists. Uses angles well and finished consistently at the rim. Carries a 3.8 GPA in classroom and is active leader in his school community. Andre Wheeler (5' 10, PG, Lakeside; 2023) is a spark-plug point guard with good speed and quickness. He had some really nice buckets off of tough drives in traffic. Several of our camp staff gave high praise for defensive ability and desire to pick up full court and pressure ball handlers. Austen Colton (5' 10, PG, East Coweta; 2023) is a crafty and physically strong guard who can really score the basketball. He has an excellent jump shot, creates off the dribble, and was one of the top three-point shooters in attendance. In addition to his ability to put points on the scoreboard, he also did a good job leading the offense with good ball handling skills and passing ability. Nice player to watch down in Coweta County. One of only a few select freshman participants in a camp dominated by upperclassman, Andrew Taylor (5' 6, PG, Therell; 2026) didn't back down from anyone and made an impression with his sparkplug play. The exciting lead guard used his quickness to create for teammates with some excellent passes while also showing the ability to get in the paint and convert floaters and pull ups over much bigger defenders. Will be fun to watch his development under Coach Tay Sorrell at Therell. Programs seeking a talented guard who can really shoot the basketball need to take a close look at Victor Newsom (6' 1, PG, Sandy Creek; 2023). The battle tested CG has a State Championship pedigree and is a smooth operator on the floor with an even smoother jump shot. He is a very efficient player who opens up the floor with his elite three-point shooting ability, but also plays with a good court IQ and makes the right play. Alot of intangibles to his game; willing to make the extra pass and get down on the floor for loose balls. He has good versatility on the defensive end and was equally successful locking down quick guards or mixing it up with bigger wings.
    Picture
    Jesse Gaynes (Marist)
Jesse Gaynes (5' 11, PG, Marist; 2023) is a winning point guard who played a key role in leading Marist to the AAAA Final 4 last year. Jesse exhibited those same qualities at camp where impressed as a first rate distributor, dropping dimes all over the floor. Compliments his playmaking with a nice three-point shot and solid lay-up package as a scorer. Has good understanding of the game and on-court communication. Several College programs used the camp as an opportunity to evaluate him and left impressed. Lazarus "Laz" Mason III (6' 1, PG, Grayson; 2024) is a talented sleeper prospect out of Gwinnett powerhouse Grayson High School. He is cat quick and has a really nice handle which allows him to break down opposing defenses for his own scoring and distribution to teammates. Good jump shot and separation off the bounce. What may have been most impressive about his game was his defensive effort, as he puts great pressure on the ball and created several turnovers which led to buckets for his team. He is player to watch closely. Centennial High School has a Senior guard duo that had a good showing at camp and are diamond in the rough prospects certainly deserving of next level looks. Jonah Hibbert (6' 0, PG, Centennial; 2023) is a prospect who creates his shot really well off the dribble and can really light it up from three-point land. He also impressed with his intensity on defense and vocal leadership. Jamir Blount (5' 10, PG, Centennial; 2023) is a move-in to the Peach State from New Jersey and plays with a tough, hard nosed approach to the game. Strong on ball defender. Gets to the rim and finishes strong in the paint with a clean three-point stroke. Look for both to have strong Senior campaigns for Coach Matt Barksdale. Mekhi Sherman (5' 10, PG, North Cobb; 2023) was one of the smaller guys in camp but has big game. He impressed with his quickness and toughness, scoring the ball in traffic, knocking down tough jumpers off the dribble, and seeing the floor with excellent vision. Does a great job leading the fast break in transition. Pressures the ball length of the floor. His on-court skills, leadership, and 4.0 GPA in the classroom make him a player to keep tabs on this coming season. A guard to watch in the Class of 2024 class is another North Cobb product by the name of Marvin Maina (5' 11, PG, North Cobb; 2024). He is a lightning quick lead guard with a great handle and dribble moves. Slices and dices to the rim and finishes well. Smooth pull-up jumper. Daveon Henderson (6' 2, SG, Westside Macon; 2023) is a athletic guard wired to score the basketball. He was effective at all three scoring levels, but was especially dangerous creating off the dribble and finishing with mid-range pull-ups and strong finishes at the rim. After a big Junior season where he averaged an impressive 21 ppg, he is a known player in Middle Georgia but is still somewhat of an under-the-radar prospect on a state wide scale. Look for that to change this coming Senior season, as his talent warrants him being mentioned among the better available guard prospects in Georgia.
    Picture
    Randy Harris (South Paulding)
Randy Harris (6' 2, Guard, South Paulding; 2023) is a good all-around player who impressed with his athleticism and versatility. He showed a bit of everything offensively during the day, knocking down jumpers, attacking the paint hard, handling the rock, and going coast-to-coast in transition for buckets. Shoots the three ball well off the dribble. Defensively, he gets after it and plays with good intensity.  South Paulding represented big at the camp and in addition to Harris and the previously mentioned Jeremiah Taylor, another Spartan who showed well was Andrew LaVigne (6' 2, Guard, South Paulding; 2024). A Junior with good size and strength for a guard, He played his way onto the watch list of several College coaches with his combination of skill and grit. He is an excellent three point shooter but can also put the ball on the floor and attack the paint. We also liked his ability to standout on the defensive end, where he played with an intensity and desire often missing in showcase camps. His on court talent combined with 4.0 GPA should certainly bring interest his way over the next two years. Max Young (6' 2, SG, Central; 2024) is another Junior who had a good showing. His development over the past year has been nice to see as he has gotten stronger and more confident. He was one among the top three-point shooters in camp and was a threat spotting up and off the dribble. In addition to his consistent shot making, he is a solid perimeter defender and plays with a good head for the game. Look forward to following his development.

    9/22/2022

The 2022 SEBA Atlanta All-Star Shootout was held September 17 on the campus of Pope High School. This 19th Anniversary Fall event featured 150 prospects from throughout all of Georgia, as well as from the states of Florida, Tennessee, and South Carolina. The players were provided the opportunity to demonstrate their talent to the many College Coaches in attendance, as well as some of the top media and scouting outlets in the South.

Here is Part 3 in a series of reports profiling the Top Performers. These players were selected to
    the All-Shootout "3rd Team".

Additional evaluations will be posted in the coming days.

    Third Team

    PG - Ryan Williams
    PG - Javonne Williams
    WG - Braedon Ofosu-Kwarteng
    Forward - Ethan Sams
    Forward - Jason Johnson
    Picture
Javonne Williams (6' 0, PG, Paulding County; 2023)
Cat quick lead guard who gets into the paint with ease and makes good things happen with the ball in his hands. Creates really well off the dribble and finishes consistency around the basket. His ability to breakdown the defense, paired with his court vision, creates many high percentage shots for teammates. Defensively, Javonne  is also a standout. One evaluator identified Javonne as the top on ball defender in camp. He uses his speed and quickness to harass opposing ball handlers, and picks up quite a few steals in passing lanes. Look for Javonne to stuff the stat sheet for Paulding County this coming season, and distinguish himself as one of top Point Guards in Georgia's Class AAAAAA in the process.
    Picture
Ryan Williams (5' 10, PG, North Paulding; 2024)
Highly skilled and heady Point Guard who has a great feel for the game. While not one of the most physically imposing players in the gym, it would be a major mistake to underestimate Ryan. Once the ball is tipped and he starts playing, it is very apparent he has some serious game. He has good quickness, has the ball on a string, and uses change of pace moves extremely well. He was equally dangerous attacking the rim or splashing jumpers from the outside. He knocked down an array of mid-range pull-ups, floaters, and deep three-pointers. Can put up points in bunches. Finishes well at the basket among bigger players. Did an equally impressive job creating for others and has good passing skills. Looks very comfortable leading his team and running the show. College Coaches should get familiar with him now, as we think he will establish himself as one of the better lead guards in Georgia's Class of 2024.
    Picture
    Braedon Ofosu-Kwarteng (6' 2, G; Whitewater; 2023)
Camps like the SEBA Shootout provide a great platform to unveil recruiting gems, who for one reason or another, might not have the name recognition their game deserves. Braedon is one of the players who took advantage of the stage to demonstrate his high talent level. He received positive reviews from both College Coaches and scouts in the building. A long and athletic 6' 2 guard who impressed in a variety of ways. Did a great job using his quickness to get to the rim and once there, he knows how to finish. In one stretch, he had a high flying dunk and then followed that up with consecutive step back three-pointers. He has a smooth release and range on his shot. Equally impressive was his ability to guard the basketball on the defensive end, where he wrecked havoc with his quickness and length. All in all, Braedon is a player primed for a big-time breakout season down in Fayette County and we look forward to seeing where that leads.
    Picture
    Ethan Sams (6' 5, Wing/Forward; Lakeside; 2023)
Long and wiry prospect that is very bouncy; plays well above the rim and is a constant threat to posterize an unsuspecting opponent. Did a great job slashing to the basket from the wing and finishing thru traffic. Runs the lane really well on the fast break. Defensively, he brings good versatility and and an ability to guard multiple positions. Plays with a good motor and whether it was hustle plays or second and third chance opportunities on the offensive glass, he was making plays to help his team win. Will form a formidable trio at Lakeside this season along with with fellow Seniors Sebastian Reed and Andre Wheeler, who also had nice showings at camp.
    Picture
    Jason Johnson (6' 7, Forward; Brookwood; 2023)
Athletic big who had several highlight reel dunks that created buzz throughout the building. He was a strong interior presence throughout the day, whether scoring in the paint, crashing the boards, grabbing offensive putbacks, or blocking shots on the defensive end. While his size, bounce, and interior play is certainly his bread and butter, Jason also exhibited a very solid shooting stroke from the mid-range and knocked down the only three pointer we saw him shoot. Has earned multiple College offers already, and we would expect that list to grow in the near future. Underrated prospect in Class of 2023 with excellent potential for next level.
Additonal evaluations will be posted in the coming days

    Second Team

    PG - Kameron McCall
    G - Jeremiah Taylor
    WG - KeAndre Harris
    Forward - Harrison Morris
    Forward - Alex Cannon
    Picture
    Kameron McCall (6' 1, PG; Hillgrove; 2023)
It is always exciting to see a player make a significant jump in his development as a player over the course of the off-season. Going into his Senior year, Kam has done exactly that and Colleges are starting to take notice. After strong showings in June with his Hillgrove High team and an excellent July during the travel ball live period in July, He has continued to carry that momentum into the Fall. On Saturday, he played with a noticeable confidence, scoring the ball at a high rate and in an efficient manner. He shot the three ball at a high percentage both off the catch and off the dribble. His quickness and increased strength from time in the weight room was on display, as he continuously was able to drive into the paint and finish at the rim, or create for open teammates. Defensively, he puts good pressure on the ball and has good awareness. A high character and hard working prospect with a 3.9 GPA in classroom. Look for him to be one of Georgia's biggest "breakout" players in the '23 class this coming season.
    Picture
Jeremiah Taylor (6' 2, Guard; South Paulding; 2023)
Strong Athletic Guard who is really good at attacking the basket and scoring at the rim. Whether in the halfcourt set or in transition, Jeremiah's quickness was a handful for opposing defenders to deal with. He displayed a good float game and mid-range pull-up. While very aggressive as a scorer, he plays at a good pace and doesn't force the action. Sees the floor well and delivered several nice assists to cutting teammates. Defensively, he is a true asset, as both a team defender and disrupting opposing ball handlers with his physical prowess. Leader and go-to guy for a talented South Paulding squad that should make noise this year. All-State candidate in Georgia's Class AAAAAA.
    Picture
KeAndre Harris (6' 3, Guard; St. Anne - Pacelli; 2023)
Good looking prospect out of Columbus area who scored the ball at a high rate throughout the day. Among the camp's top scorers, he is a long and wiry 6' 3 guard who creates his shot really well. In 5 on 5 play, KeAndre came out the gate on fire; knocking down a variety of contested pull-up jumpers and deep treys. With the defense eventually focused on taking away his outside shot, he did equal damage putting the ball on the floor and scoring in the paint on both sides of the rim. Looked good pushing the ball in transition. Look for him to have a huge Senior season for St. Anne Pacelli. He is prospect College Coaches do not want to sleep on.

    Harrison Morris (6' 8, Wing/Forward; Walton; 2023)

High ceiling and high academic prospect with really nice upside that caught the attention of numerous College coaches and scouts in attendance. Showed a good versatility to his game, with a combination of inside scoring on the block, outside shooting, and all-around basketball IQ. He moves well without the ball and works well within the flow of the offense, which is no surprise coming out of a very well coached Walton program.  Equally impressive was his versatility on defense. At 6' 8, He showed the ability to guard wings on the perimeter, but a willingness to bang down low as a post. He blocked several shots and altered several others as a rim protector. With a 4.3 and 1390 SAT; he is prospect that Academic Elite programs should definitely take a strong look at.

Alex Cannon (6' 8, Forward; Walnut Grove; 2023)
Emerging prospect standing a legit 6' 8 with a sturdy frame; Alex had an impressive  showing throughout the camp. He shined on the defensive end, where he was a continuous presence as a shot blocker. He swatted away numerous attempts in the paint. He is a physical and aggressive rebounder and did a great job snatching boards and quickly initiating the break with outlet pass. Offensively, he played to his strengths and was assertive in wanting the ball on the lower block, where he showed solid footwork and hands. He didn't shy away from contact, which is always nice to see in a young big man. He had several powerful dunks in traffic. While he is still obviously developing; Alex has some serious upside and the potential to be a high impact player at the College level. We expect him to become a priority target for numerous College programs in the coming weeks and into the winter season for an always talented Walnut Grove.

Additonal evaluations will be posted in the coming days
