    2019 SEBA College Showcase Top Performers (Recap - Part 3)

    The 2019 Southeast Basketball Academy (SEBA) Atlanta College Showcase took place on March 23 on the campus of Oglethorpe University. For the past fourteen, this event has successfully brought together available prospects from throughout the South and provided them with an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities to College Coaches. The event has served as bridge between players and coaches and has resulted in scholarships and playing opportunities for hundreds of players since its inception.  
     
    This year’s edition of the SEBA College Showcase carried on that tradition, as 200 prospects representing all parts of Georgia as well as seven other states were eager to compete and display their talent to the large collection of college coaches in attendance.

    6' 3 Guard Josiah Stewart is an impressive all-around guard prospect

    2019 Guards
    ​
    The Camp roster boosted a good group of talented 2019 perimeter players who will play at the College  level. In addition to the players already listed, here are some others who also made their mark. Josiah Stewart (6' 3, SG, Lamar County) is a 1st Team All-Region guard with size who impressed with his all-around guard play. He created very well off the dribble and his mid range pull up was automatic throughout the day. He rebounds well, pushed the pace while leading the break and had some nice athletic finishes above the rim. Titus Hunter (5' 10, CG, Tri-Cities) is a spark plug guard who makes everyone around him better. After having a magical season in which he was named Region "Player of Year" and a major piece of Tri-Cities' run to the Class AAAAAA State Title, Titus played at camp with great intensity and focus. He attacked the rim for buckets and handled the ball really well. He showed good athleticism on the defensive end of floor and rebounds very well for a guard. Harleon Reed (5' 9, PG, Spoto, FL) is a speedy lead guard who impressed with his passing and scoring abilities. He showed dual ability to create for himself and distribute for scoring opportunities. Averaged 19 PPG this year and was one of the top Senior guards in the Tampa Bay area.  Jalyn Hickman (6' 0, PG, Duluth) is a lead guard who is wired to score. He has a nice pull game and uses nice series of ball handling moves to attack the paint and breakdown the defense. Sees the floor well and had several nice assists for easy buckets. A good student with a 25 ACT, he is a hard worker on and off the court. Nathan Pickett (6' 0, PG, The Skill Factory; 2019) is another prospect from TSF Prep who had a good showing at camp. He has a quick first step and did an excellent job of penetrating the paint and breaking down opposing defenses. He is a strong finisher around the basket and showed a capable three point shot. Coaches liked his energy,  vocal leadership, an dhigh court IQ. His academic resume of a 4.0 GPA and 26 ACT makes him a great target for academically for academically selective schools looking to sign a point guard.

    2019 John Allen showed tremendous defensive play
    John Allen (5' 7, PG, Marietta) is a super quick and explosive lead guard who makes a major impact on both ends of the floor. Defensively, his aggression forced alot of turnovers and resulted in buckets on the other end for his team. Had four steals over course of several minutes in one camp game. He gets in the lane with ease and dishes for clean assists to teammates. He is great in transition with the ball. All-Region performer in a tough League; he will be a very nice pickup for a program. Jakobe West (6' 1, SG, Mt. Zion) is a nice player with a smooth outside stroke. He knocked down an array of jumpers on the day and is able to keep defense off balance with penetration. One of the top Senior guards on the Southside of Metro Atlanta, he averaged 16 ppg this past season. Ronny Walker (6' 2, SG, Laney; Post Grad) is an athletic guard with good bounce. He attacks gaps in the defense quickly and had a couple of highlight reel dunks in the 3-on-3 station.  He pressures the ball well on defense and crashes boards hard. Zachary Sinclair (5' 10, CG, Arnold, FL) is a lights out shooter and was one of the top marksmen in the camp. He has a quick release on his shot, deep range, and was dangerous spotting up and off the dribble. A 1000+ point career scorer at Arnold, he also holds a 30 ACT which makes him an intriguing prospect for upper tier academic programs.

    2019 PG Trillis Brown had a good showing at camp
    Trillis Brown (5' 11, PG, Stockbridge; 2019) is heady Point guard with good speed; he combined a nice mix of scoring punch, defense, and ability to run the offense for his team. He did a nice job of penetrating, drawing the defense, and kicking out to open shooters. He shot the ball well from the outside and made good decisions in transition. A 1st Team All-Region player this year, he also provided aggressive on ball defense. Malique Combs (6' 1, PG, Franklin County) is versatile point guard with good size; capable scorer from the outside and off the drive. Plays with good poise and comfortable leading the offense. Rebounds well from the perimeter and is solid defender. Played key role for Franklin County squad that advanced to Elite 8 this past season. Braden Martin (5' 10, PG, West Hall) was a pleasant surprise who really seized the camp stage to demonstrate his talents. He played really well in his first 5-on-5 game, where he was all over the floor making plays. He knocked down several long three pointers, penetrated off the dribble for scores at the rim, and dished out several nice assists when defense collapsed. Sleeper prospect out of West Hall County worthy of looks. Jalen Milner (6' 1, SG, Georgia Military College Prep) is a good looking guard who is a threat to score in bunches. Knock down shooter on the spot and off the dribble. Sees the floor well and makes good decisions with the ball. Ronald Lee (6' 3, SG, Shaw) is an lengthy and athletic guard out of Columbus area. He was at his best when slashing to the rim and knows how to finish. Is good in the open court and runs the floor hard. Demonstrated good versatility as a defender and has good upside potential.  Fernando Caballero (6' 1, PG, Colegio San Jose, Puerto Rico) made the most of his trip to Atlanta from Puerto Rico and had a good showing. A fundamentally sound guard with strong College ready frame, he has solid perimeter skill set and court awareness. He showed very good passing ability and understanding of passing angles. Has deceptive leaping ability and showed the ability to finish above the rim. Carries a 4.0 GPA and scored 1200 on SAT. Armani Bolston (6' 0, CG, Langston Hughes) impressed with his ability to do many things well. He shot the ball at a high percentage, distributed, has good court vision, and got his team involved. Active defender and showed good leadership skills. Jamiel Wright (5' 10, PG, Parkview) is a dynamic playmaker who plays with a great motor. He is really good at turning corner off of ball screens and finishes really well in the paint. He has a nice pull-up jumper and is all over the floor on defense picking up steals, loose balls, and playing aggressively on the ball. Was a 1st team All-Region selection in one of Georgia's toughest AAAAAAA Leagues this past season.

    2019 Guard Cameron Cherry has a deadly outside stroke
    Cameron Cherry (6' 2, SG, North Paulding) is a tough and skilled player who shoots the ball really well but has enough quickness to make the defense respect his drive. He is a crafty scorer in the paint who uses changes of pace well and has good range on his three point shot. Averaged 15 ppg and was All-Region performer in a tough Georgia Class 7A league this past year. Justice Hayes (6' 3, SG, Cass) has good size and strength and played with great intensity. He shot the ball well from beyond and was one of the top rebounding guards in camp. Most impressive was the hustle he played with and a willingness dive on the floor, take charges, and set screens for teammates. Has great intangibles. Ennis Woolfolk (5' 11, CG, Social Circle) is a high energy scoring guard with good quickness. Handles the ball well, gets in the paint with ease, and finishes really well around the rim. Was named 1st Team Region this past season. Carlos Dixon (6' 0, CG, Manchester) is a scoring threat who puts up points in bunches. The "Region Player of Year" shot the three ball well and was aggressive to the rim, where he has good body control to finish drives. The 2nd team All-State selection averaged an impressive 21 ppg this past season.

    The underclassman also had an impressive group of standout perimeter players. Micah Roebuck (6' 1, PG, Franklin County; 2020) is an explosive and physical combo guard who shined on both sides of the ball. Offensively, he was very good off the dribble where he aggressively attacked the rim and finished consistently in traffic. He gets good elevation on his outside jumper and knocked down numerous three point shots. Good in transition and strong on ball defender. Two-time All-Region selection was catalyst for Franklin County team that advanced to Elite 8 this year. Prospect to watch in Georgia"s Class of 2020. Franklin Bailey (6' 1, SG. Chattahoochee; 2020) is a talented shooter with the ability to really light up the scoreboard from beyond the arc. He plays with great confidence and isn't afraid to step up and take big shots for his team. He defends the perimeter well and communicates vocally with teammates. Was an All-Region performer for Chattahoochee team that was one of the top squads in Class AAAAAA this year. Keon Sedgwick (6' 1, CG, Paulding County) is a fun player to watch. He is very fast with the ball and can be electrifying in the open court. Sees the floor really well and dished out several highlight reel assist. He finishes really well on drives to the rim, has a solid midrange pull-up, and is very active defender in passing lanes. Dawson Wilkins (6' 1, PG, Woodland; 2020) is a strong bodied guard who made his living aggressively driving the paint. He did a good job of scoring himself and creating shot opportunities for his team. Player to watch from Bartow County. Jaylen Stewart (6' 1, CG, Northview; 2020) is a blossoming player who makes his presence known as both a scorer and a defensive stopper. He exhibited a nice mid-range game scoring game with ability to also take it strong to the hoop. He guards the ball well and crashes the boards hard on both ends. Was named All-Region as a Junior this past season.  Shamon Zanders (6' 0, PG, Dooly County; 2020) is a talented 2020 All-Region guard who showed good court leadership and playmaking ability. He knocked down the outside jumper, finished at the rim, and got the ball to shooters at the right time.

    Felix Uadiale (6' 6, Forward, Eagles Landing Christian Academy; 2019) 
    In Showcase settings, it is common to see players trying to do things they don't normally do. Felix did not have the problem. He Having helped lead ELCA to the State Championship Game this past season with athletic and hard nosed play inside the paint, Felix brought that same type of game to camp and really thrived in doing it. He is an outstanding leaper and plays with a great motor. He controlled the boards on both ends of the floor and is an aggressive rim protector. Offensively, he finished around the rim with a combination of layups and power dunks, mixed in with occasional face-up jumper. Just recently committed to play his College ball at Maryville College. Look for Felix to be a high impact player in the USA South Conference over the next four years.

    Malcolm Daniels II (6' 3, Wing Guard; Thomson; 2019)
    Explosive wing guard who impressed with his all around game. Malcolm excelled in the open court throughout the day. He runs the floor very well and has the ability to finish way above the rim. Had several highlight reel dunks on the day. Our camp staff really liked how active he was on the defensive end and played with consistent intensity throughout the day. Attacks the rim well within the half court set and is above average rebounder from the guard spot.

    Jalen Roper (6' 5, SG, The Skills Factory; 2019) 
    Blooming guard prospect with great length/wing span; Jalen had a very good showing at camp. He demonstrated a smooth perimeter game with dual ability to drive and knock down jumpers consistently from beyond the arc. Moves well without the ball to find seams in defense. He shot the ball well while spotting up and off the bounce. Defensively, he covers alot of ground and has good versatility.  Player with nice potential whose best ball is ahead of him.

    Orry Clements-Owens (5' 10, PG, Hillgrove; 2019)
    Jet quick point guard with the ability to score and create for others; handles the ball really well and creates good space away from defender on his pull up jumper. Is a player with the ability to get very hot from beyond the arc; and knocked down more than his share of long treys on the day. Sees the floor well and does a great job of getting the ball to teammates with good timing and in scoring position. Puts good defensive pressure on opposing guards in full court. Carries a 3.96 GPA and is a primary recruiting target for several of the schools in attendance.

    Mekhail Bethea (6' 1, PG, Dacula; 2019)
    Talented Playmaker who understands the responsibility of the point guard position. He handles the ball well and has great court vision. He controlled the tempo of the game and seemed to make something good happen whenever the ball was in his hands. Has good speed and excels while leading the break. A more than capable scorer, the Class AAAAAA All-State selection was a 1,000+ point career scorer for Dacula. He finishes really well on drives to the rim and has good physicality. Solid jump shot. A stellar academic student with a 4.0 GPA, he is going to make a  very good pickup for a program at the next level.

    Asher McGee (6' 4, Wing, Drew Charter; 2019)
    Talented wing guard with good blend of athleticism and skill. He was an effective scorer at the rim and on the perimeter. Was at his best when attacking the rim off the dribble, and has the bounce and strength to power thru contact. Runs the floor hard and had several impressive dunks on fast break. Good rebounder and active defender. Is a three time All-Region selection, averaged 19 ppg & 7 boards this past season.

    Austin Harris (5' 11, CG, White County; 2019) 
    A three-time All-Region guard who averaged 22 ppg this season, Austin backed up his impressive high school stats with a strong camp performance. He has a very good mid-range jumper and three point shot and smooth release. He uses a very good change of pace dribble to blow past defenders and create for himself and teammates. Plays with good intensity, he was more than willing to dive on the floor for loose balls and play aggressive on ball defense.  He carries a 3.7 GPA and 1320 SAT. Will make a great pickup for an academically selective program.

    Kendall Norrington Jr. (6'6, Forward; New Creation Christian Academy; 2019)
    Strong and physical forward who thrives in the paint while also having the ability to play the wing effectively. Is a top notch rebounder who crashes boards hard. Very good positional defender in the post, can also step out and check wings on the perimeter. Has three point range on shot. One of the top screeners in camp, he is very comfortable in pick-n-roll game. Plays with good hustle and isn't afraid to do the little things to put his team in position to win.

    Nayari Dampier (6' 0, PG, The Skill Factory Prep; 2019)
    One of the top floor generals in the event, Nayari did a fine job orchestrating the offense for his team and making everyone around him better.  His combination of speed and court vision is impressive. He was successful weaving in and out of defenders in the open court as well as attacking the paint in the half court set. The year of Prep school at TSF has visibly developed his game as he has put on at least 10 lbs of muscle and plays with more court confidence. He looks more than ready to successfully lead a team from the PG spot this Fall at the College level.

    Alex Forde (6' 3, SG, Etowah; 2019) 
    Alex had a breakout season for Etowah and continued to raise his stock at the SEBA Showcase and catching the eyes of several coaches. He is a lights out shooter from beyond the arc with a smooth stroke and the ability to get very hot. He was automatic from three point land when his feet were set. He puts his length and upper body strength to good use as a lock down defender on the perimeter. A highly coachable player with great work ethic, Alex has improved dramatically over the past year and expect him to continue that progression as he steps up to the college level.   
    Lance Smith (6' 2, Wing Guard, Salem; 2019) 
    Energetic wing guard with powerful frame, Lance was literally all over the floor making good things happen. He has good speed and an extra gear which allows him to blow past defender for strong finishes at the rim. He does a nice job of creating his shot off the dribble and knocked down the pull-up jumper throughout the day. Coaches like his ability to lead the break and make good decisions with the ball. Loose balls, rebounds, pass deflections, and steals....he was a menace on defense and plays with the kind of hustle that spread to his camp team. Was named 1st Team All-Region this past season.   
    Malik Foston (6' 1, PG, Georgia Military College Prep; 2019)
    Talented Middle Georgia guard who can flat out score the rock. Malik did a great job breaking down his man off the dribble and finishing at the rim. He was equally dangerous from the outside, where he knocked down an array of pull-up jumpers and three point daggers. He showed good court leadership and was vocal on both ends of the floor. A 1st Team All-State selection in Class A this past year, he averaged an impressive 26 ppg under the legendary Coach James Lunsford.

    Devin Evans (6' 8; Wing; Duluth; 2019)
    One of the camp's top overall performers and a prospect with great College potential, Devin had a terrific showing. His combination of length and athleticism presented problems for opposing defenses throughout the day. In the halfcourt, he was very effective at attacking the basket and scoring at the rim. He thrives in the open court, runs the floor well, and had several thunderous dunks to finish the fast break. Defensively, he was very active in the paint, blocking shots and snatching rebounds. He also showed the ability to effectively defend the perimeter. His aggressiveness was consistent on both ends of the floor and he played with great energy. Easy to see why he is considered one of the top available talents in Georgia.

    Omari Peek-Green (6' 5, SG; Dohn Community High School, Ohio; 2019) 
    Athletic prospect with strong 6'5 frame, The Ohio native generated a buzz throughout the day. The most physically imposing guard in the event, Omari was very effective taking his man off the dribble and powering thru contact at the rim for scores. He has a smooth pull-up jumper and gets good separation from the defender. Has the ability to play above the rim and finish with authority. Excellent rebounder for a guard. He does a great job initiating the fast break after securing rebound and distributed ball well. Has good court vision and makes the right pass. Looks very much the part of a Division I player.

    Treylan Smith (6' 2, CG; Marietta; 2019)
    Scoring combo guard with great quickness; Treylan is a tough player to guard off the dribble. He finishes really well in the paint and had multiple acrobatic finishes at the rim for scores. He is a good ball handler and creates well for himself. Wiry strong and finishes consistently over taller rim protectors. The lefty did a great job of getting to the rim, but also showed he can knock down the midrange jumper when defense sagged off. Nice looking prospect out of Cobb County.

    Jamar Moore (6' 6, Wing; Loganville; 2019)
    The camp format presents a long day of basketball with many of the participants showing fatigue by the afternoon session. However, the opposite was true for Jamar, who seemed to bring increased energy as the day went on. The long and bouncy wing guard played with a great motor on the both ends of the floor. Whether he was dunking on a defender in traffic, coming helpside to block a shot, or crashing the boards for a putback bucket, he was literally all over the court making plays. The passion he played with was contagious and spread to his teammates. The 1st Team All-Region selection was the Walton County Player of the Year and averaged 20 ppg and 10 boards this year as a Senior. High potential prospect.

    Tay Howard (6' 4, SG; East Jackson; 2019)
    Multi-dimensional guard who does many things well. His versatility is his greatest strength as a player. Tay scored the ball at the rim, knocked down treys, set-up teammates for scores, and ran the break. Defensively, he has the ability to guard multiple positions and match up with quick guards or bigger wings. A member of the 1,000 point club at East Jckson in only two years, he averaged 23 ppg this past season while being named All-Region and All-Area. Has impressive academic credentials with a 3.5 GPA and 1140 SAT. Recruiting is trending upward, with strong interest from numerous programs.

    Alex Bean (6' 8, Forward; Tri-Cities; 2019)
    Emerging big man had a terrific showing from start to finish;  caught the attention of multiple College coaches with his play. Alex excelled in in the half court 3 vs 3 skill station, where he was a force both offensively and defensively in the paint. He rebounded the basketball extremely well throughout the day and was great on the offensive boards; providing second and third chance opportunities for his team. Defensively, he played the role of strong rim protector and paint presence, while also effectively defending pick-n-roll situations away from the basket. Runs the floor well for his size and good finisher; had several impressive dunks in both half court and on fast breaks. Key player on Tri-Cities squad that won the Class AAAAAA State Championship.

    Justin Perry (6' 4, SG, Kell; 2019)
    Talented guard whose game should translate well to the College level. Has good size and was one of the top all-around  scorers in the camp. He shot the ball very well from beyond the arc and created good space for his jumper off the dribble. His length bothered opponents when guarding the perimeter and he rebounds well for a guard. Was named All-State and All-Region while helping lead Kell to a Region Title and Elite 8 appearance this past season. Carries a 3.5 GPA in classroom.

    Jaelin Simpson (6' 1, PG; Brandon Hall School; 2019)
    All-State GISA guard who averaged 27 ppg this season; Jaelin lit up the scoreboard from all three zones of the floor. Possessing a nice combination of quickness and strength, He relentlessly attacked the rim for buckets; while also hitting floaters, pull up jumpers, and several three pointers. Plays with a focused intensity and put up big numbers without forcing the action. Will be a great pickup for a program looking to add offensive firepower.  ​

    Jacobi Coleman (6' 4, Wing; Warner Robbins; 2019)
    Long wing guard with good athleticism; Jacobi left a positive impression on many of the Coaches in attendance. He has a versatile skill set; thrives in the open court and in half court set. Looks to attack the basket and uses his athleticism to convert at the rim. Adept at posting up smaller guards in the paint, while also displaying an effective outside jumper. Really like his ability to defend multiple positions. Throw in his 3.8 GPA and 24 ACT score and it easy to see why several College programs are heavily pursuing the Middle Georgia standout.

    Rae'Shaun Wilson (6' 0, CG; Lenard High, Florida; 2019)
    Pleasant surprise who definitely made the most of his trip up from the Tampa Bay area. Rae'Shaun played with great energy and was a high impact player all over the court. He is a tremendous leaper and executed a between the legs dunk that brought a roar throughout the gym. He attacked the rim with aggression and finished consistently. He knocked down pull up jumpers at a high rate from the mid-range. Plays good on ball defense and pressures passing lanes; created numerous turnovers and turned them into scores on the other end.

    Zeff Felton (6' 7, Forward; Dooly County; 2019)
    Zeff was a defensive powerhouse throughout the day. He played great interior defense, seemingly blocking or altering every shot that came his way. He is very active and plays with a great motor. Was one of the best rebounders in the camp; owning the boards on both ends of the court. Offensively, he played to his strengths, which is grabbing offensive putbacks and finishing around the basket with power layups and dunks. While still developing as a player, he has a very bright future. With the right  JUCO program, could certainly see him emerging into an eventual Division I prospect

    Demarcus Johnson (6' 0, PG, Tri-Cities; 2019)
    Scoring point guard who was very effective from all three scoring levels. He used his quickness to get into the paint and uses his body extremely well to score at the rim among taller defenders. He is a knock down shooter from beyond the arc and is dangerous coming off high ball screens. A player who steps up big-time in clutch situations, Demarcus hit game winning shot at the buzzer to lead Tri-Cities to the AAAAAA  State Title a few weeks back. All-State selection this past season. He currently holds offers from several Division II and Junior College programs. Is going to be a very nice player at next level.
