Team Overview: |
|
Berkmar
has entered into a new era, as first year Head Coach Greg
Phillips takes over the reigns of the tradition rich program.
Coach Phillips comes to Berkmar after serving as an assistant
at powerhouse Norcross High. The Patriots will rely heavily
upon a talented but very young backcourt. The sophomore trio
of Yonel Brown (5’ 11, PG, 2012); Brandon Thompson
(6’ 2, Guard, 2012) and Ben Wibonele (6’ 0, Guard.
2012) will be looked upon to play major roles for the
Patriots. |

2008-09 Record: |

26-7
|
|
Team Overview: |
|
The 2008-09
season was a highly memorable one for Blessed Trinity. In what
some thought would be a rebuilding year, the Titans surpassed
almost all expectations in winning 26 games and advancing to
the Class AA State Championship Game in Macon. Coach Brian
Marks’ program has been of the most successful in all of
Georgia the past three seasons (going 74 - 17 over that span).
This year’s team will lack experience, and might need some
time to mesh, as only one starter returns from last year’s
state runner up. That player is Austin Cremins (5’ 8,
PG, 2010), who is a heady floor general with excellent
quickness and ability to create for teammates. |

|
Team Overview: |
|
Caesar
Burgess’ squad has the potential to be one of the Elite Teams
in Class AAAA. The Chamblee program has consistently produced
strong college prospects and this year is no different, as the
Bulldogs boost a talented roster led by two standout seniors.
David Mason is a highly athletic 6’ 5 wing that is
regarded as one of the top available 2010 Prospects in
Georgia. Langston Hall, is an impressive 6’ 3
Playmaking Lead Guard who has committed to Division I Mercer
University. 6’ 7” Victor Bowden (Forward, 2011) has
looked good in the pre-season and is receiving D1 interest,
while Fred Miller (6’ 3, Guard, 2011) is a Sleeper to
watch in the 2011 class. |

|
Team Overview: |
|
Harrison has the depth, size, and quality
guard play that could result in them being one of the biggest
Surprise teams in the state. Coach Robert Churchwell will rely
upon a solid group of veteran returnees balanced with a
talented collection of sophomore newcomers. Carl Washington
(6’ 6’, Forward, 2010) is a versatile wing forward who can score
in the paint as well as put the ball on the floor. Sophomore
Post player Marshall Guilmette (6’ 9, Forward, 2012)
has outstanding potential as a prospect and had a very good
Summer and Fall. The backcourt will be anchored by Jamal
Watson (5’ 11, PG, 2011) and Ryan Blumenthal (6’ 2,
SG, 2012). Watson has good speed and creates well off the
dribble. Blumenthal is an impressive sophomore with the ability
to get very hot from the perimeter. |

2008-09 Record: |

27-3 |
|
Team Overview: |
|
Hillgrove spent most of last season
ranked as one of the Top two teams in Georgia Class AAAA on
its way to winning 27 games. Despite graduating several
talented players from that team, the expectations are once
again very high for Coach Morris’ squad. The Hawks were named
as the #2 ranked team in the state in the Pre-Season Coaches
Poll. Leading the way for Hillgrove will be Heath Houston
(6’ 8, Forward, 2010). The Senior Forward, who has
committed to Auburn, is a strong and athletic defensive
presence inside. Houston has added several dimensions to his
offensive game over the summer and has tremendous upside
potential. Mike Lawrence (6’ 3, Guard, 2010) has
excellent scoring ability and attacks the basket very well off
the dribble. He might be one of Georgia’s Top 2010 Under the
Radar Prospects. Look also for Kyle Sledge (6’ 6,
Forward, 2010) and Dominic Early (6’ 5, Wing, 2011) to
make strong impact. Sledge is athletic leaper and good
interior defender while Early is an inside and out threat who
can put points on the board. |

Coach
Jesse Bonner is enthusiastic about his team's outlook for this
coming season. The Mustangs return Senior Darryl Durham
(6' 6, Forward, 2010) who averaged 14 PPG and 9 boards per
game a junior. Torian Singleton (6' 6, Forward, 2010)
will bring additional presence to the paint, while
promising juniors Omar Jiminez (6'1, CG, 2011) and
Erik Edwards (6' 0, PG, 2011) bring scoring punch and
playmaking capability to the backcourt. |

|
2008-09 Record: |
|
19-7 |
|
Team Overview: |
|
The Trojans enjoyed one of the best
seasons in school history in 2008-09, as Coach Morris’ squad
spent a good portion of the season ranked as one of the
State’s Top 10 teams in AAAAA. The Trojans return several
impact players from a year ago and will also look for the
newcomers to make their presence felt. With several of the top
players on the hoops squad being two-sport athletes (as
member’s of Lassiter’s powerhouse football squad); the Trojans
could take a while to hit their stride. In any event, look for
Lassiter to play excellent team defense complimented by a
smart and disciplined offensive attack. |

|
Team Overview: |
|
The Warriors
are a talented, albeit young squad that should challenge for
a State Tournament birth out of Region 5AAAAA. Terry Gorsuch
is a top notch coach that has developed North Cobb into a
perennial state playoff team. Gorsuch’s squad will be led by
a trio of Juniors. John Smith (6’ 6, Forward, 2011) is
a big bodied forward who rebounds well and can score inside.
Jalen Clark (6’ 1, Guard, 2011) is a perimeter threat
who is looking to advance his game to the next level after
some impressive performances last year as a sophomore.
Eddie Cengic (6’ 3, Wing, 2011) is a fundamentally sound
wing with inside-out capability. Jordan Neff (6’ 5,
Forward, 2013) is a good looking freshman prospect who is also
expected to play a key role.

The Yellow Jackets will feature a number
of new faces this season as Coach Marc Carver’s squad looks to
return to the State Tournament for the third straight year.
Leading the for charge for Sprayberry will be Duncun
Lunsford (6’ 1, CG, 2011). Lunsford is a physical and
quick guard who is both a scorer and lock down defender.
Elijah Hayes (5’ 10, PG, 2010) will bring senior
leadership to backcourt while Returning Starter Jason
Gordon (6’ 4, Forward, 2010) brings good length and
athleticism to the frontcourt. |

Team Overview: |
|
St.
Francis is an experienced and veteran team anchored by a core
group of senior talent. Based upon their strong play this
summer and overall team chemistry, the Knights should find
themselves in the State Playoffs come February. Coach Huff will be looking for
big production out of Sam Kim (6’ 4, Wing, 2010). The
versatile Senior averaged a double-double last season as a
junior and is a tough matchup for opposing defenses. Fellow
senior Chris Hawkins (6’ 4, Forward) will add solid
frontcourt production and Nick Grant (6’ 4, Wing, 2010)
is a dangerous shooter from beyond the arc.

Team Overview: |

Excitement
is running sky high for the Stockbridge program as Coach Duane
Kelly returns the vast majority of talent from last year’s
team that advanced to the “Sweet Sixteen” in Class AAAA.
Leading the way will be Pre-Season 1st Team
All-State selection Chris Davis (6’ 3, PG, 2010).
Davis, who averaged 20 PPG as a junior, is one of the Top
Available 2010 Prospects in the Southeast Region. The Senior
guard is extremely quick to the basket, can score in bunches,
and thrives in creating opportunities for teammates off
penetration. The Tigers will also look to wing guard Dante
Campbell (6’ 4, Wing, 2011) and Senior Guard Adonis
Durden ( 5’ 8, PG, 2010) for heavy production.

production on any given night. |
